Connecting External GoHighLevel Sub-Accounts to Workspace

For clients outside your GHL Agency

Purpose

This Standard Operating Procedure explains how to securely integrate GoHighLevel (GHL) sub-accounts that do not belong to your main agency into your Centerfy.ai workspace. This is particularly helpful for automation providers and agencies managing client accounts outside their own GHL environment.

What You’ll Need

  • Login credentials for the client’s external GoHighLevel account

  • Access to your agents.centerfy.ai/portal workspace

  • A white-labeled Centerfy Workspace

  • Incognito Browser access

Process Overview

Step 1: Access the External GoHighLevel Sub-Account

  • Log out of any existing sessions tied to your primary agency account.

  • Log in to the GoHighLevel account that owns the sub-account you plan to connect.

  • Ensure you have the necessary permissions for OAuth authorization.

Step 2: Start a Direct Connection in Centerfy.ai

  • From your Centerfy.ai dashboard, click “Add New Sub-account.”

  • Choose “Direct Connection” instead of using the Agency OAuth method.

  • Select the desired sub-account from the list (do not select the full agency).

  • Approve the required permissions when prompted.

Step 3: Complete OAuth Authorization

  • You will be redirected to the OAuth flow for secure authentication.

  • Centerfy.ai will automatically create the sub-account (if not already created) and link it to your workspace.

  • Once authorized, you’ll be able to access conversation history or test activity if applicable.

Step 4: Confirm the Connection

  • Return to your Centerfy dashboard and confirm the sub-account is visible and marked as connected via OAuth.

Step 5: Reconnect if OAuth Breaks

  • Should the OAuth token expire or the connection be disrupted:

    • Log back into the relevant GoHighLevel account.

    • Repeat the Direct Connection process.

    • Centerfy.ai will re-link the sub-account without creating duplicates.

Step 6: Don’t Use “Agency Connection” Toggle

  • If the sub-account does not belong to your agency, do not use the “Connect to GHL – Use Agency Connection” option.

  • Doing so may override permissions and disrupt the OAuth connection.

Step 7: Share Access Correctly

  • Never share your custom menu or agency-specific link for onboarding external accounts.

  • Instead, provide the direct sub-account creation URL from your Centerfy.ai workspace.

  • Instruct clients to use that link for a seamless, OAuth-free setup.

Step 8: Remote Access & Management

  • Manage all connected sub-accounts through agents.centerfy.ai/portal without needing to log in and out of different GHL accounts.

  • Use the “Open in New Tab” option for direct workspace access to any connected sub-account.

Completion Checklist

  • Sub-account appears in your Centerfy dashboard

  • OAuth link is active and confirmed

  • Direct creation URL shared with the client (if needed)

  • You can access and manage the sub-account directly via Centerfy.ai
