Purpose
The Missed Call Text Back feature allows you to automatically send a text message when you miss a call—helping you stay connected with leads and customers even when you can’t answer the phone. This is a built-in Go High Level feature and does not require any additional services or AI subscriptions.
If you’re using the Centerfy SMS AI Agent, it can automatically handle any replies to the missed call message, turning it into a live, intelligent conversation.
How to Activate Missed Call Text Back in GHL
Step 1: Log In to Your GHL Account
Go to your Go High Level dashboard.
Step 2: Navigate to Phone Number Settings
Click on Settings (bottom left)
Select Phone Numbers from the menu
Step 3: Enable Missed Call Text Back
Scroll to the Advanced Settings section
Under "Voicemail & Missed Call Text Back", toggle the feature ON
Step 4: Customize Your Message
Write the message you want automatically sent when a call is missed
Example: “Sorry we missed your call! How can we help you today?”
Step 5 (Optional): Let the AI Handle Replies
If you have the Centerfy SMS AI Agent active:
Any replies to the missed call text will be automatically handled by the AI
The AI will qualify leads, answer FAQs, or escalate to a human if needed

Q: Do I need to pay for this feature?
A: No. This is a native GHL feature and is included with your existing GHL subscription.
Q: Can I use this on multiple numbers?
A: Yes. You can configure missed call text back account wide for all GHL numbers.
Q: Can I have a different message for different use cases?
A: At this stage there is only provisions for 1 automated text response for all numbers in your GHL account.
Q: Will the AI respond to incoming text replies?
A: Only if the Centerfy SMS AI Agent is active and the contact has the correct Active Tag (e.g., smschat_ai) applied.
Q: Can I disable it at any time?
A: Yes. Just return to Settings > Phone Numbers > Advanced Under "Voicemail & Missed Call Text Back", toggle the feature OFF
